William Richard “Rich” Allison, 39 years old of Jonesboro, went to live with his heavenly Father on May 23, 2009. He is survived by his mother, Mary Allison, of the home; his son, Colton Allison, of the home; his daughter, Mackenzie Allison, of West Plains Missouri; three sisters Ina Allison, Rebecca Allison-Johnson, Kathy West, all of Jonesboro; one brother, David Allison of Jonesboro, four nieces, one nephew, four great nephews and one great niece.
Richard was a graduate of Jonesboro High School, worked as a security guard at St. Bernard’s for several years. He also spent most of his short life training search and rescue dogs, two of which worked at the World Trade Center on September 11th.
He was a member of Calvary Chapel Church. He is preceded in death by his father Howard Allison of Jonesboro, two uncles, John Robert Allison of Memphis; James S. Allison of Jonesboro; and one Aunt Ida Mae Allison of Jonesboro.
Funeral services will be 10:00 AM Tuesday, May 26, 2009 at Friendly Hope Baptist Church with John Lawrence officiating and burial to follow at Pierce Cemetery with Emerson Funeral home in charge of arrangements. Pallbearers are James Bridges, Carl Washington, Joey Troutman, Ernest Cullum, Michael Patterson, and Gary Patterson. Honorary pallbearers are Louie Harris, Wayne West, Robert Johnson, Ken Newcom, Ben Allison, Terry Holcomb, Chris Sheppard and Larry Billing’s Sunday School Class at Calvary Chapel of Jonesboro.
